Rihanna lanzó el tercer video de su álbum "Loud" llamado S & M. El vídeo recuerda mucho al trabajo realizado por Madonna en 1995 en su video "Human Nature".
Perez Hilton, quien hace una aparición en el video, dijo a MTV News:. "Mi impresión de este video es que fue estrategicamente hecho para llamar la atención y llegar a un punto de opinión. Me recordó a Madonna durante su epoca de 'Erotica' "Hollywood'/'American Life', los cuales fueron muy controvertidos."

El presidente de Millenium Records, Jimmy Ienner, hizo quizás la decisión más estúpida de su carrera entera, rechazando el demo de Madonna.
Él escribió que mientras que él “gozó al escuchar a Madonna” y tuvo gusto de varias de sus canciones, él pensó “no siento que ella está lista todavía.”
